If you take a walk through the historic center of Naples, you will notice that some alleys are decorated with posters and stickers by street artists. The use of posters and stickers allows artists to work in the studio and not linger too long at the chosen location for their work, and at the same time allows for easier removal of the artwork. It is, therefore, definitely a more ecological form compared to spray paint or direct painting on the wall. In the image you see a poster by whatifier, with two kittens. One red and the other black, they are connected by a network signal #wifi, which, however, is heart-shaped. The first one warns that the connection has been lost, and asks whether to try again. The second one warns that there are other connections available and imposes automatic connection. The language chosen for communication between the two cats is English and the language is typically IT-related. The content, however, is about emotions. Through this process, the artist creates a disorienting effect, and the viewer is forced to go beyond the single mural and reflect. Is technology taking over emotions? The theme is also repeated in other murals by @whatifier, have fun looking for them in the historic center of Naples!
P.S.: I specify that what I wrote is my personal interpretation! I could also be wrong, but art is beautiful for this reason too... it leaves a space of freedom for those who observe it!
